VOICES. "Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel Shall come to thee, O Israel"Merry Christmas everyone! John

Here's a vacant house for ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY for Halloween Day! I can hardly express how much the image of a proverbial "Haunted House" means to me, and I can't explain it. These old Halloween metaphors are comforting to me, maybe because of the childhood memories.
Look at the wonderful stuff they bake everyday!
My wife came home at lunchtime and brought this... a cake from The Village Bakery! I miss this cake very much.
I finally decorated the big Elm tree in our front yard for the festive month
Even Blerpy got into the fun! (She reminds me of Totoro)
YEEEEEEE-HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! "Strings" is the ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY theme this week! Y'all have a great weekend and a wonderful week!- John
SuGaRy The theme for ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY! Please forgive me for using a picture I have used before but it IS very sugary. I hope you have a wonderful October weekend and week to follow!- John
Packed! The theme for ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY
LOOK! A Vampire Clique! -for Illustration Friday
I'm not an "Island" kind of person... I'd hate to be one one today and I hope my fellow Texans in Galveston and other coastal sities get out safe and alive. Here is the best I can come up with at this juncture, a pumpkinhead (I should have put wings on him!) fairy-thing riding a snail on a beach. Boy, he needs to pick up some speed!
Illustration Friday is about "Clutter" today. I find comfort in clutter. I love stacks of books and piles of art supplies and interesting things spilling over onto curious shapes... and the scene isn't complete without a cat on top of it all, asleep.
Here it is Friday again! Fall is on the way and my memories go there! ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY.
It's the old "Sword Swallower Routine", as seen on ILLUSTRATTION FRIDAY!
"Detach" is the word for ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY and I can think of no more fitting subject!
"Sail" is the theme for ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY - I got a lot of great ideas as I searched for things I've already done like this. This is a few years old and done pretty quickly. Now I am loaded with plans for a large painting. Have a great, GREAT weekend (and week)! John
POOF! Here it is- my entry for ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY
"Enough" is Illustration Friday's theme today... it's different things to different people. Y'all have a great weekend and a wonderful week- don't take things too seriously- John
"Sour" is the theme for Illustration Friday today- but I'm hardly in a sour mood, it's The Fourth of July!!! Happy 4th of July! Have great weekend (I hope), I'm watching the Twilight Zone Marathon on the Sci-Fi channel. God bless you!- John
This is a little picture done for fun in a sketch game started by James Gurney called Art By Committee-
This is my latest entry in James Gurney's ART BY COMMITTEE sketch game go check them all out... I think you'll be glad you did!- John
Here is a "Vampire Family Tree" I just put on EBAY.
I sure had a lot of fun with this- though I misunderstood the assignment for ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY from the beginning, you know "Hoard"... yes, I thought it was like the Mongolian Horde. I imagined this "Horde" of mice... but I rationalized that they could be "Hoarding" guitars! It all makes completely perfect sense! Have a wonderful week my friends!- John
PUNCHLINE is the theme of ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY so here comes the punchline... (why don't YOU write it!) Take care- Happy Father's Day! Have a great weekend and week to follow- John
"Baby" is the theme for ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY (and I can't believe it's Friday) and though these aren't exactly babies I'm sure the little round shapes on the fairy on the right were learned by my observation of our children when they were small. A little one asleep is one of the most beautiful sites on the planet.
As you may know "Worry" is our theme for ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY this week- I chose this little guy because he looks worried to me. I made this drawing to be "Little Lord Byron"- does he look worried to you? Thanks for looking! Have a GREAT weekend! I hope you get Monday off!- JOHN (Random) York
WIDE or "VIDE" (when it involves vampires) is the theme for ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY ... If it looks like this was done in mere moments, well, IT WAS! I got stuck on "Wide"
These are supposed to be dim bulbs, my entry for the Electric theme for ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY... I hope you have a wonderful week!- John
"Seed" is the theme for ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY this week... I could hardly wait to move away from the Creepy "Wrinkle" picture I posted last week! Here's the entry this time, it should come with a warning about being careful what you plant.
"Primitive" is the theme for ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY this week... I call this a "Primitive Headless Horseman"- I hope you enjoy it and I hope you have a great, great weekend and week to follow!- John
"Fail" is the Illustration Friday theme. This is ball point pen, watercolor pencil and China Marker on notebook paper. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and week!- John
"SAVE" is the theme on ILLUSTRATON FRIDAY this week... this is an old one, it was the closest I had that honestly dealt with the theme. Hey, have a great week!- John
This little painting is my Homage to Early Spring for ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY...
