Although I'm one of the apparently few people who has not read any of the Tolkien books, I just love this paitning! The little marching silhouettes against the vibrant wash of sky create an air of excitement and allow the viewer to make his or her own story. Well done! Onward!

I feel ready to join your group, it looks like fun and to look at a sky like that: WAAAAAAAAA.
Oh so beautiful. It makes you wish that they don't end up going into the darkness later in the story.

What a wonderful way to illustrate discovery! I've always loved LOTR. This is a great tribute to the series.
Beautiful illustration, wonderful colors in the sky. And that's one of my favorite books, once I discovered it I couldn't put it down.
