Giant Haunted House Oil Painting Video "Haunted Chilton House"

Welcome to my neighborhood! This is a little video of my "Old Chilton House" painting, a large (5 by 8 ft) oil on canvas. The soundtrack is "Darkness in the Valley", an original tune of mine inspired by Gregory Miller's novel of the same name.

"Overture fo Kings" Medieval Card Game

I've illustrated a new Medieval theme card game called "Overture of Kings" that is now in an active campaign on Kickstarter.  Jeff Goodman, Michael Branin and I have worked on this project for the last year and a half.
Here's a link to the project with several layers of participation, all with rewards.

The illustrations are fun and colorful, done in my "old school" style.

Here's the second video, (well, sort of) that compiles some King Bronty adventures set to the heroic music of Shipley Douglas' Mephistopheles performed by The Illinois Brass Band.

KING BRONTY Trapped Inside Witch Castle! Eleven Exciting Panels!

The "Witch Castle" adventure is really just picking up. King Bronty and Prince Podoee have encountered some scary witches and are being pursued into the dark, ancient hallways of the creepy, old fortress.

I hope you enjoy this blog.  I truly enjoy making "King Bronty"!  "King Bronty" is drawn on paper then transferred to bristol board using tracing paper and a carbon-like paper.  The transferred drawing is then inked in black lines with either ink and a brush or a brush pen or a Sharpie marker.
Next, I use combinations of Crayola Markers, Pitt Artist's Markers, Prismacolor Markers, gouache paint and colored pencils. Then, of course, I scan each page, re-size it and post the strip for you to enjoy!
Please use the little PayPal button below to support "King Bronty" with any amount you wish.
Thank you!

King Bronty "Inside Witch Castle"

You may have wondered what has happened with King Bronty and his little brother, Prince Podoee.
They were last seen climbing the many steep, stone stairs outside of Witch Castle while several weird figures on broomsticks hovered high above Witch Hat Tower!

I hope you enjoy this blog. Though I truly enjoy making "King Bronty" please join in and  encourage it's continued creation by support for art supplies (yes, ink isn't free), coffee, etc.  JRY

View From Witch Hat Tower! King Bronty

The last time we saw King Bronty and Prince Podoee they were cautiously climbing the steep, rugged staircase carved from the very cliff that supported Witch Castle!

A Little "Horror Portfolio"

I love ghost stories and creepy, fun horror tales. Old horror short story collections, especially with pen and ink illustrations, always get my attention. Below are several of my creepy pictures, some from my collaboration with author, Gregory Miller, with whom I've had the honor of working with on four "Creepy" short story collections and a soon to be released novel!
